Wooden Gothic Church of All Saints
The Church of All Saints in Tvrdošín is a Roman Catholic wooden church. It originally dates back to the end of the 15th century (some sources indicate the end of the 14th century) and was rebuilt in the Renaissance style in the 17th century. It is the oldest preserved architectural monument in the town.
The interior features a dominant Baroque altar from the end, a late Renaissance pulpit from 1654 with figures of the evangelists, paintings of the apostles, a depiction of St. George, and other domestic paintings.
In 1993, the church was reconstructed and restored, and these works were awarded the EUROPA NOSTRA prize in 1995. The church is a national cultural monument and has been listed as one of the eight wooden churches in the Slovak part of the Carpathian arc in the UNESCO World Heritage list.
